Cause And Effect

 Author's Note: This is a short Cause and Effect piece on a great book called "Speak"

In the book "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson there is a girl named Melinda. Melinda has gone through many situations so far in her first year of High school. Being violated at a party, No friends, a loss of trust in anyone, and to afraid to speak to anyone about her problem. One cause and effect in this book is how at the end of the Summer party she and her friends were having a great time, everyone having fun until a couple of drinks get swallowed. Everything seemed to be in slow motion to Melinda after that all she could really remember is some drinks, a cute boy, a quick 911 call,  then an upset, uncomfortable walk home alone the point is that now after that night she ended up not being able to trust anyone anymore. Making it hard for her to make friends, or have fun, and also having a boyfriend.
