Its The Inside That Counts
Author's Note: This is a prediction to the book The Help in this essay I will be comparing two books.
Currently I am reading the book called "The Help" By.Kathryn Stockett. This story is about 2 colored maids named Aibleen and Minny who work as housekeepers for white women, and a young writer named Skeeter in Mississippi 1962. In this book the main characters each have there own chapters for each of their stories. I predict at the end of the story Skeeter will write the Help as i'm reading the book.
A reason why Skeeter will write this book is because while reading the story Skeeter starts writing a story based on the life of colored maids and what they do through the day, how they deal with there bosses, and there children.Skeeter thought it would be a great idea if she talked to Aibleen and Minny about their sides of the story on how it's like to be a full time maid. Skeeter asks them many questions from cooking, to cleaning and taking and raising there bosses children.
Another reason why is because she is not predigest against "Colored" people she doesn't care what people's skin looks like or what size they are it all matter on what's on the inside. In the time where the story takes place being friends, or married with "Colored" people was not a very good thing to do in this time. Other very predigest people would not even come close to a "Colored" person unless it was there own maid.
A similar story plot to this story is in the book called Clover by. Dori Sanders these two plots are very similar because in the book clover a colored man marries a white women and both of there families don't approve on the different races joining together. Like the Help everyone is very predigest and also don't approve on being friends with different races.
In the this conclusion I feel as though Ms. Skeeter will write the book but not only just Aibleen, and Minny it will take the community to write the book

Her Changes
Author's Note: This is an character development essay about my book "The Help" by. Kathryn Stockett.
This book "The Help" by. Kathryn Stockett takes place in Mississippi in 1962, when all anyone ever knew was segregation. The story starts with Aibileen she is one of the main characters of the story. She is a "Black Nanny" and a maid for Mae Mobley and Ms. Leefolt. Mae Mobley is Ms. Leefolts two year old daughter. There are several other main characters in this story you have Miss. Skeeter who graduated from Ole' Miss and is the only who pretty much respected all the African American maids. Another main character of this story is Minny, Minny is a hard worker but has a bad attitude to the white women. She is best friends with Aibileen, and an exceptional cook. Minny worked for Ms. Hilly which takes us to the last important main character. Ms. Hilly treats everyone horriblsdxcy especially everyone who's colored. She felt like she owned them all. Ms. Hilly comes from a very wealthy family. In the 1960's African Americans they never seemed to be equal with whites. There was a law that separated blacks from the whites. For example there were black only schools, water fountains, bathrooms, and buses where separated whites in the front and black people in the back.
In the beginning of the story Aibleen starts out as a quiet, hardworking, not trusting of the whites she worked for as their maid. In her life she raised close to 20 white children they all loved her like another mother, and she loved them all like they were her own. Aibleen also went through a loss of her 24 year old son Treelore from falling off of a loading dock at work and being run over by a tractor trailer crushing his lungs, and no one came to his rescue because the didn't consider him worthy enough.
Through the book Aibleen changes by learning how to trust other maids, and Ms. Skeete . Aibleen also opens up about her past employers from the kids she raised. She also learned a little acceptance with Treelore's death. She gained a truer friendship with Minny and Ms. Skeeter. Within this book Aibleen influenced many people with her stories she told and her kind sole. Her raising several white children and loving them all the same makes her a very gracious woman. With Mae Mobley being the last child she will raise she tries to influence her to accept everyone for who they are. Aibleen always told Mae Mobley "You is smart, You is beautiful, and you is good."
Someone in this book who really influences me is Miss. Skeeter because she was the only one who treated everyone with respect. She stuck up for the black against the white. She wrote the story for them. My mother always told me don't judge a book by it's cover because you never know what the story is inside. One thing that Miss. Skeeter did that really stuck out in the book was her relationship with her old maid Constantine, she loved her like a mom. She could tell her anything without regret or being judged.

Conflict Resolution
Author's Note: This is a small two paragraph essay about the conflict resolution in the book "The Maze Runner"
In the book "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner Thomas, the main character, wakes up in a metal box with the memory of his past life wiped. He is welcomed into a large, concrete area called the Glade. The Glade is a small secluded area surrounded by massive concrete walls, beyond which lie an enormous maze which nobody has dared to go through. Thomas
The conflict of this story is Person Vs. Nature because within this story Thomas goes through many situations where he comes close to killing himself from the maze. One situation that really gets me into the story is the first time Thomas tries to escape the Glade . He couldn't believe how big the opening walls were. Another reason is that in the Glade it gets very hot and Thomas has to constantly work to say alive so the heat affects how much he can work within the book. The conflict gets resolved by Thomas making it through the maze and still in one piece after he finishes it.

To Late
Author's Note: This is a short story related to Halloween
Her bloodshot eyes turned to the back of her head, the zombies flesh eating mouth buried into her already half eaten body. Still alive she screamed in pain using all her strength to rip the attached zombie off of her. “Get the hell off!” her bloody hands smacked and punched the zombies foul face. It’s yellow teeth chomped away at her shoulder. Her loud echoing screams pierced my ears. I looked the area to see if it was safe to run it was a clear chance for me to live. I looked at the squirming girl. “I have to help her. There’s no one left but me and her” As soon as I ran toward her the screaming stopped, the zombie stood up wiping its blood filled mouth. It was pleased with its meal. I was too late.

Patriots Pen
Author's Note: This is an essay about what I would say to the founding fathers if I went back in time now.
They started our nation. They helped us build this country, these great citizens are The Founding Fathers if it wasn't for them this fantastic country wouldn't exist today. Lately I have been asking myself what if I went back in time and told our founding fathers how great our country is now that they wrote the Deceleration Of Independence. America provides an amazingly good life for the ordinary family nowadays. We have, food, water, shelter and many other priorities that other countries don't.
Something that I would tell them is how we still have freedom. This is probably the most important because the U.S.A is known for usually one thing and that is our freedom, we have freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion and many more. The U.S.A is one of the only few countries who have freedom. Like China you can't leave the country or say what you want to say and have a different religion. It's everything that the ambassador wants.
Another great reason our country is great is because we are an international country. An international country is a country that has every different races of people. In America immigration is legal anyone from any other can come to live here. There is no law against it. Unlike in other countries if you want to live in another country you need usually can't even leave your country.
The Founding Fathers did a great job starting our country if we didn't have the founding fathers this country would be not at a good state. I would say thank you for everything they did.

Cause And Effect
Author's Note: This is a short Cause and Effect piece on a great book called "Speak"
In the book "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson there is a girl named Melinda. Melinda has gone through many situations so far in her first year of High school. Being violated at a party, No friends, a loss of trust in anyone, and to afraid to speak to anyone about her problem. One cause and effect in this book is how at the end of the Summer party she and her friends were having a great time, everyone having fun until a couple of drinks get swallowed. Everything seemed to be in slow motion to Melinda after that all she could really remember is some drinks, a cute boy, a quick 911 call, then an upset, uncomfortable walk home alone the point is that now after that night she ended up not being able to trust anyone anymore. Making it hard for her to make friends, or have fun, and also having a boyfriend.

The Teacher
Authors Note; This is an essay about the first time I had guitar lessons
Whenever you're learning a new instrument it's always hard right? What about being 10 years old and having to play Stairway To Heaven, or Crazy Train? Not an easy task. At my first guitar practice about four years ago. I couldn't even wrap my hands around the guitar neck, or pluck a single string without bumping the others with my young, plump, small hands. The sound of the strings clashing still crept through my mind the scratchy, un tuned, noise pierced my ears every time that happened.
My guitar teacher though, was very patient with my mistakes as any other teacher would be. But he didn’t act, or look like a regular teacher from any other school. The first time I met him he was not like I expected, his hair as is long as mine maybe even longer, he was outgoing, loud, full of energy, and had a sailors mouth.
I sat in a brisk, painful chair getting out my heavy, cherry red guitar. His crystal blue eyes scanned my guitar, and he quickly snatched it out of my hands playing long slick scales perfectly. My eyes grew wide watching his fingers moving swiftly up and down the guitar. Could I ever play this good? My guitar teacher stopped playing and looked at my surprised expression, then lightly chuckled handing my guitar back to me. “Sick guitar” he exclaimed, my eyes squinted unsure of what he meant by “Sick.”
I remember clearly that I couldn’t understand anything he was saying to me. Harmonics, scales, Sharps, Flats, the words that he blurted out swirled through mind.
but it turned out it wasn't so bad. Every week we would find a song to play, and stick with it until I finished the song. After about three months I started to get the hang of guitar I started getting faster, my plucking wasn't bad, and the songs I picked were harder every time.

Conflict and Resolution
The book I am reading now is called "Speak" by. Laurie Halse Anderson. In this book there is a girl named Melinda. Melinda is a quiet, misunderstood girl that has no trust in anyone. Through this book Melinda goes through a situation that she will never forget. It starts out as a great time, her friends by her side, everyone having fun until a couple of drinks get swallowed. Everything seemed to be a blur to Melinda after that all she could really remember is some drinks, a cute boy, a quick 911 call, then an upset, violated walk home alone. The conflict of this story is person vs. society because Melinda's 911 call didn't just affect her but everyone of her friends, and the guests at the party. They all end up getting busted, Melinda's friends would never forgive her after that phone call that got everyone in trouble. Now everyday Melinda's "Friends" constantly tease, bully, and harass her at school.
Towards the end of the book the conflict gets resolved by Melinda telling all of her friends what happened at that horrifying night. They couldn't believe what had happened to her, there eyes grew wide and so did they mouths. They asked many questions that Melinda didn't feel very comfortable answering. They never gave Melinda the chance to explain why calling the cops was needed. Her friends ended up understanding, and forgave her for calling the cops.

Deep Down Popular
Author’s
Note; This is a small paragraph about a book called “Deep Down Popular”
The author of this wonderful book is “Phoebe Stone”
Deep Down Popular is a book about a young girl named Jessie Lou, who is trying to get
the most popular guy in school Conrad Parker Smith to like her. The problem is he doesn’t even know she exists. Everyone knew him even the high schoolers. But on the first day of 6th grade Conrad Parker Smith came to school that day with a big, metal brace on his leg. Nothing would be the same.

Useless
Author's Note: This is a paragraph about a girl/boy who is scared and injured. What I want you to look for in this paragraph is the word choices I use.
My body shivered in pain, blood seeping slowly out of my wounds. The dark room was damp and secluded. “How did I get myself into this?” I asked myself. The rooms door opened creaking as it was talking to me. Light from the next room pierced my eyes, making me squint “Are you ready to talk?” a strange man like voice asked me. I didn’t answer positioning myself upward. “I guess not” the strange man said with a irritated tone. Footsteps got closer to me making me shiver once more. The man gripped tight onto my collar shooting me up from the ground. Uncomfortable pain shot in my bloody wounds. I was helpless, I couldn’t even stand up on my own two feet. At this point I didn’t care if I died. “Now do you wish to talk?” He asked again sounding more angry than before. “No..” I replied with the strength I had left. The man grunted and threw me to the ground. I cried in pain grabbing hold of my Injuries. “Your useless” His heavy footsteps returned to the door, slamming it behind him.

School Bites
Authors note: This is an essay about a book called Before You Fall In this essay I am going to tell about how trust is important to have with someone you are close to.
Middle school really stinks for thirteen year old Vlad Tod. No parents, bullies harass him daily, the principal is watching his every move, and the girl he really likes has no feelings for him. However, the worst part is Vlad has to hide the fact that he's a vampire. In this amazing story the author will show the readers how Vlad changes through this book.
Vlad is like a half tween half vampire, he goes to school, plays video games, and has terribly hard homework like every other kid at his school. He also is a very different person inside and out. Eating, and drinking nothing but blood, having fangs that are able to pop out at any moment of the day. And having the ability to fly. He also has very pale skin with incredibly dark features, his bullies make fun of him for that. They call Vlad “Goth boy” or “Gothic god”. Vlad just ignores there meaningless names they call him.
Trust is a big part in this story Vlad has to trust certain people to stay safe from his psycho substitute teacher Mr. Otis. Mr. Otis is substituting for the whole year because of a strange disappearance of there old teacher Mr. Craig. Vlad is very uncertain about Mr. Otis in the beginning of the story. His teaching skills were very odd, his old top hats and outfits looking like he was from the 1800’s. On the other-hand he is able to trust his closest friend Henry, and his Aunt Nelly, who he has lived with almost his whole life.
This book relates to my life by me coming to the Pewaukee schools. I didn’t know what to expect of new friends and the unknown, but as I started making new friends I found out who I could trust and who I couldn’t. Another reason is that some of the teachers when I first came to this school were kind of scary at first, when I got to know them better they were very nice.
In this book it shows how Vlad Tod changes through this book, at the end of the book he ends up finding his parents, and the missing teacher Mr. Craig captive by Mr.Otis. Having a better attitude with people around him, and lastly finding the courage to tell the girl he likes how he feels.

Before "You" Fall
Authors note: This is a essay about my book Before I Fall I am writing about this book to remind certain people, to stop following people that are a bad influences. Also to tell people to respect them selves.
If you kept dying and repeating one day over and over again, what would you do differently? Well, in my book Before I Fall, the main character Sammy has to repeat Friday over until she can understand that following friends, that make bad decisions like drinking, smoking is not what she needs to do to be successful in life. Sammy’s friends smoke, drink, and one day when they drank a little to much, and they got into a car crash and died. Then Sammy woke up, she woke up the same day in her same bed, she thought it was a dream.

Sammy’s friends smoke, drink, and one day when they drank a little to much, and they got into a car crash and died. Then Sammy woke up, she woke up the same day in her same bed, she thought it was a dream.
In this book revenge is a big part in the story, whenever Sammy and her friends get into a situation where, they need to hurt some one's feelings for revenge they will. A situation in the book that revenge takes part of is when Sammy and her friends go to party, a girl goes up to them and tells them how she feels, they get angry and they start a fight. The girls push her around call her names and throw there drinks at her, she leaves embarrassed and angry. Revenge is never the answer, when it comes to hurting other people for you to laugh and have fun.
The main character in this amazing story is Sammy, Sammy is a follower she could never be a leader as she says. She doesn’t have a lot of knowledge about what’s right or wrong, so she also drinks, and smokes just like her friends do. Sammy doesn’t know what to do she keeps dying and waking up on the same day. She is in a situation in the story where she is confused and furious, about what is happening she can’t even tell her parents about whats going on without them sending her to a mental hospital.
This book relates to my life by Sammy being a follower, I am a follower I will not lie. But like Sammy she does the bad things that her friends do like drink, and smoke. If one of my friends were doing that I would never! underage drink, or smoke. I only follow the good ideas that my friends do like possibly study a different way, or what good books they read. Another part of the book that relates to my life is when Sammy started to make new friends, after she understood that her friends that she has now are bad influences for her. And when I came to Asa Clark I had to make new friends to.
My main character changes so much through the book, she realizes that she keeps waking up and dying because the “spirit world” is trying to tell her to change her ways. Like being kind, and friendly to everyone not just specific people that she is close to. At the end of the book she ends up having a totally different attitude, with everything she stops drinking, and smoking and stands up to her old friends.
Before I Fall is a book that helps you understand to respect yourself, and to help you choose the right things to do. Always try to be a leader, not a follower.
