To Late

Author's Note: This is a short story related to Halloween

Her bloodshot eyes turned to the back of her head, the zombies flesh eating mouth buried into her already half eaten body. Still alive she screamed in pain using all her strength to rip the attached zombie off of her. “Get the hell off!” her bloody hands smacked and punched the zombies foul face. It’s yellow teeth chomped away at her shoulder. Her loud echoing screams pierced my ears. I looked the area to see if it was safe to run it was a clear chance for me to live. I looked at the squirming girl. “I have to help her. There’s no one left but me and her” As soon as I ran toward her the screaming stopped, the zombie stood up wiping its blood filled mouth. It was pleased with its meal.  I was too late.

Patriots Pen

Author's Note: This is an essay about what I would say to the founding fathers if I went back in time now.

They started our nation. They helped us build this country, these great citizens are The Founding Fathers if it wasn't for them this fantastic country wouldn't exist today. Lately I have been asking myself what if I went back in time and told our founding fathers how great our country is now that they wrote the Deceleration Of Independence. America provides an amazingly good life for the ordinary family nowadays. We have, food, water, shelter and many other priorities that other countries don't.

Something that I would tell them is how we still have freedom. This is probably the most important because the U.S.A is known for usually one thing and that is our freedom, we have freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion and many more. The U.S.A is one of the only few countries who have freedom. Like China you can't leave the country or say what you want to say and have a different religion. It's everything that the ambassador wants.

Another great reason our country is great is because we are an international country. An international country is a country that has every different races of people. In America immigration is legal anyone from any other can come to live here. There is no law against it. Unlike in other countries if you want to live in another country you need usually can't even leave your country.

The Founding Fathers did a great job starting our country if we didn't have the founding fathers this country would be not at a good state. I would say thank you for everything they did.

Cause And Effect

Author's Note: This is a short Cause and Effect piece on a great book called "Speak"

In the book "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson there is a girl named Melinda. Melinda has gone through many situations so far in her first year of High school. Being violated at a party, No friends, a loss of trust in anyone, and to afraid to speak to anyone about her problem. One cause and effect in this book is how at the end of the Summer party she and her friends were having a great time, everyone having fun until a couple of drinks get swallowed. Everything seemed to be in slow motion to Melinda after that all she could really remember is some drinks, a cute boy, a quick 911 call,  then an upset, uncomfortable walk home alone the point is that now after that night she ended up not being able to trust anyone anymore. Making it hard for her to make friends, or have fun, and also having a boyfriend.

The Teacher

Authors Note; This is an essay about the first time I had guitar lessons

Whenever you're learning a new instrument it's always hard right? What about being 10 years old and having to play Stairway To Heaven, or Crazy Train? Not an easy task. At my first guitar practice about four years ago. I couldn't even wrap my hands around the guitar neck, or pluck a single string without  bumping the others with my young, plump, small hands. The sound of  the strings clashing still crept through my mind the scratchy, un tuned, noise pierced my ears every time that happened.

My guitar teacher though, was very patient with my mistakes as any other teacher would be. But he didn’t act, or look like a regular teacher from any other school. The first time I met him he was not like I expected, his hair as is long as mine maybe even longer, he was outgoing, loud, full of energy, and had a sailors mouth.

I sat in a brisk, painful chair getting out my heavy, cherry red guitar. His crystal blue eyes scanned my guitar, and he quickly snatched it out of my hands playing long slick scales perfectly. My eyes grew wide watching his fingers moving swiftly up and down the guitar. Could I ever play this good? My guitar teacher stopped playing and looked at my surprised expression, then lightly chuckled handing my guitar back to me. “Sick guitar” he exclaimed, my eyes squinted unsure of what he meant by “Sick.”

I remember clearly that I couldn’t understand anything he was saying to me.  Harmonics, scales, Sharps, Flats, the words that he blurted out swirled through mind.
but it turned out it wasn't so bad. Every week we would find a song to play, and stick with it until I finished the song. After about three months I started to get the hang of guitar I started getting faster, my plucking wasn't  bad, and the songs I picked were harder every time.

Conflict and Resolution

The book I am reading now is called "Speak" by.  Laurie Halse Anderson. In this book there is a girl named Melinda. Melinda is a quiet, misunderstood girl that has no trust in anyone. Through this book Melinda goes through a situation that she will never forget. It starts out as a great time, her friends by her side, everyone having fun until a couple of drinks get swallowed. Everything seemed to be a blur to Melinda after that all she could really remember is some drinks, a cute boy, a quick 911 call,  then an upset, violated walk home alone. The conflict of this story is person vs. society because Melinda's 911 call didn't just affect her but everyone of her friends, and the guests at the party. They all end up getting busted, Melinda's friends would never forgive her after that phone call that got everyone in trouble. Now everyday Melinda's "Friends" constantly tease, bully, and harass her at school.

Towards the end of the book the conflict gets resolved by Melinda telling all of her friends what happened at that horrifying night. They couldn't believe what had happened to her, there eyes grew wide and so did they mouths. They asked many questions that Melinda didn't feel very comfortable answering. They never gave Melinda the chance to explain why calling the cops was needed. Her friends ended up understanding, and forgave her for calling the cops.
